Outside the classroom

A village built one useful thing at a time.

Blockside is a growing village where schoolwork is real work: repairing paths, building shelters, reading tracks and making mechanisms safe for the people who actually use them.

The Last-Light Shelter at the edge of Blockside village
LOCATION 01

The Last-Light Shelter

A public refuge beside the village gate for travellers who arrive too close to sunset. It has an awning, a warning lamp, a retractable mechanism and, according to Flora, one non-negotiable rabbit route.

01

Building

Structures must work from every side, not only the angle Dom is currently showing you.

02

Redstone

Switches, signals and moving parts. Every mechanism needs a manual stop and a user who knows what the lever does.

03

Farming

Living systems refuse to behave like neat diagrams. Flora considers this obvious.

04

Mob safety

Know the light, the route and the danger. Do not describe a zombie as “probably harmless”.

Local resident

The Last-Light rabbit

Not a pet. Does not talk. Cannot solve the assignment. Very capable of exposing the difference between a tidy plan and a living village.

“The rabbit did it” is not an accepted incident report.

The hardest subject

Working together.

The village needs all kinds of skills. Luckily, Mrs Wren has found four pupils with very different ones. Unluckily, they all have opinions about who should be in charge.
